Menopause is the cessation of Menstration, where there has been no period for 12 consecutive months.

Peri-menopause is the first sign/symptom of menopause up until there is no period for 12 consecutive months, this on average can take approx 4 years but will vary from woman to woman and generally occurs between the ages of 40 and 50.

Menopause is something that whilst all women will go through it, everyone’s experience is unique to them, and what works for one person wont necessarily work for others.

Its important for women who are already on this journey, and those who are about to begin this stage of their lives to really look at ways to help themselves have a better and positive transition to post menopause life.

Most women will experience menopausal symptoms, the severity of which will vary from woman to woman, the most common symptoms include:

  • Hot Flushes
  • Night Sweats
  • Low Labido
  • Palpitations
  • Irritability
  • Mood Swings
  • Insomnia
  • Migraines
  • Irregular Periods
  • Poor concentration
  • Depression
  • Fatigue……..

As you can see the symptoms are vast so finding a way of helping the body transition through menopause a little easier is so important.

What you can do to help yourself – the 5 pillars of Menopause

  1. Diet
  2. Exercise
  3. Relaxation
  4. Sleep
